A young boy with cystic fibrosis overcame another daunting health challenge after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

Joseph Bostain, a 6-year-old from Tennessee, announced in a video on his mother’s Facebook page that he beat COVID-19.

“Thank you for all the cards and the prayers and the gifts,” Bostain said. “I’m a cystic fibrosis warrior, and I beat COVID-19.”

The video was captioned, “Today Joseph can tell you how he is doing himself!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜.”

At the end of the video, the young boy smiled and flexed his right bicep at the end.

According to his mother, Sabrina, Joseph was quarantined in their Clarksville, Tennessee home after coming down with a fever and cough. He was then taken to Monroe Carroll Jr. Children’s Hospital.

Sabrina had posted about her son’s condition on March 19, after it was confirmed that he caught the deadly virus. The mother asked her friends for prayers and also talked about the importance of social distancing. By March 28, his fever was gone entirely.

On April 1, the mother shared the new video in which she asks her son to give an update on how he feels.

According to her Facebook, Bostain and her husband, Timothy, have five children.

On April 13, the mother shared that there are no more updates to give after Joesph overcame his brush with coronavirus. She thanked everyone for the endless support, and said that her family received outpourings of supports in the form of video chats, messages, Amazon deliveries and more.

“We appreciate everything and everyone," Bostain said. "We are happy that Joseph is well and just wanted to say thank you!!"

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the U.S. surpassed 580,000 on April 13, with at least 23,529 deaths.
