The Detroit Lions reached an agreement with quarterback Matthew Stafford to extend his contract for five years, through the 2022 season.  The agreement is valued at $135 million.

Stafford is now the highest-paid player in NFL history, averaging $27 million a year.  Congrats Matt! We’re glad you’re sticking around!
