The motorcycle Bruce Springsteen was riding when it broke down on Veterans Day in New Jersey was built by Billy Joel at his 20th Century Cycles shop in Oyster Bay on Long Island, New York.

Billy made the admission Monday night during his monthly show at Madison Square Garden in New York, saying that he called Springsteen and apologized when he heard the news. He said Bruce told him not to worry. After telling the story, Billy sang “Born to Run.”

Billy also did “YMCA” Monday night, but didn’t say if he built a motorcycle for the biker character in The Village People.
