Jimmy Fallon took the stage at MTV’s Video Music Awards on Sunday night, but not as himself.
The Tonight Show host, with a silver-colored wig and dressed in a blue windbreaker, impersonated U.S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, joking about the swimmer’s fraudulent claims of a robbery in Rio.
Fallon, who was presenting the VMA for Video of the Year, mocked Lochte with outlandish claims such as “I’m the one who gave Adele the flip phone” or “I taught Drake the Hotline Bling dance.”
“(The videos are) so good, I couldn’t choose. I couldn’t choose, even if there was a gun to my head,” Fallon added, causing the audience to groan.
Michael Phelps, also present at the VMAs, had a priceless reaction to Fallon dressed as his Olympic teammate.
