Paul Simon Performs ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ at the DNC

Sarah Silverman, introducing Simon, said that she's still 'Feeling the Bern,' but that his supporters should support Clinton.

Although Paul Simon has hinted that his recently wrapped-up tour would mark his retirement, tonight he took the stage at the Democratic National Convention to endorse Hillary Clinton.

He was introduced by Al Franken and Sarah Silverman. Silverman, a Bernie Sanders supporter, said that “I am proud to be part of Bernie Sanders’ movement, and part of that movement is to ensure that Hilary Clinton is the next President.” She noted that she’s still “Feeling the Bern,” “But relax! I put some cream on it!”

Franken, a longtime Hillary Clinton supporter, noted that he and Silverman are “Like a bridge…”

“Good lord!” Silverman exclaimed, anticipating the pun.

Paul Simon then came on stage to perform his Simon & Garfunkel classic, “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

Even if the DNC will be able to unite the Clinton and Sanders supporters, it seemed that it was unable to get Simon and Garfunkel back together for one last appearance.
