Martha Reeves turns 75 today and wants everyone to join her at birthday party!

Martha says “A lot of the Motown artists didn’t reach the age of 75. So I feel like I’m a survivor. Life has been so good to me, and people have been so kind.”

The public is welcome at the party — admission is $15 — which will include a dance contest, ’60s costume part,y and karaoke, along with a raffle that includes several Motown-related prizes.

One of those raffle prizes will be a free session at Reeves’ forthcoming image-consulting company, which she plans to open in Detroit later this year. She hopes to recapture the spirit of mentors such as the late Maxine Powell, the personal development instructor who groomed Motown’s young stars in “class and elegance.”
