Guns N’ Roses launched the Not In This Lifetime Tour last night in Detroit. The famously tardy band shocked fans by hitting the stage a couple of minutes early, according to Rolling Stone.

According to the review, original members Slash and Duff McKagan were first to emerge, followed by newer Guns N’ Roses members Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer, Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese. Then, a fully mobile Axl Rose burst onstage full force, showing off his trademark snake-like moves. Having sustained a broken foot earlier this year, the rocker had been using Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl’s throne in recent shows. Apparently his injury has healed.

McKagan paid tribute to Prince via a purple Prince symbol on his bass (Last year, McKagan told that Prince was a major influence on him in the ’80s).

The 24-song performance ended just after midnight with “Paradise City,” complete with fireworks and a confetti shower.
