A new WalletHub study lists Michigan among the worst states for summer road trips.
Michigan ranked 46th in the study which included all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
The personal finance website’s road-trip report used 21 relevant metrics that speak to each state’s suitability to summer travelers with a dual mandate of fun and frugality. Their data set ranges from average gas prices to the quality of roads to the number of attractions.
The most puzzling aspect of this study is Michigan ranks 50th for “fun & scenic attractions.” Clearly they haven’t seen a Pure Michigan commercial.
Oregon, Nevada and Utah ranked highest overall, while Mississippi, Alaska and Connecticut rounded out the bottom.
