You can add Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason to the list of car-crazy rockers.

While Eric Clapton’s car habit is pretty well-known (Ferrari), Mason, in the true spirit of Pink Floyd semi-anonymity, kept his racing and stable of cars low profile.

In racing he experienced both Le Mans and vintage cars. Vintage and Classic is the music of Pink Floyd too.

When asked about new Pink Floyd material, Mason replied, “There’s still a lot of work to do with what I call gardening. We’ve got the 50th anniversary next year. The problem now with the music industry is that there’s almost no point in making records anymore. The only thing really is to tour, and then you’re revisiting history. Maybe it’s better to leave it. “

Too bad. I found this in the June 2016 of Ann Arbor’s own, CAR & DRIVER magazine. There’s more there. Fun read.

Stay tuned to 104.3 WOMC tonight for a chance to win tickets to see Australian Pink Floyd perform at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre on Thursday, August 4.
