I was lucky enough to be at the Waldorf Astoria in New York when Bob Seger was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Prince, George Harrison (posthumously) ZZ Top and Traffic.

The final performance of the night was “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” in honor of Harrison. It included Tom Petty, ELO’s Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood, George’s son Dhani and Prince on lead guitar.

It’s no exaggeration to say it was the greatest cover of this song I have ever witnessed!

This is still the latest information we have on the death of Prince, 57. His body was discovered at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early Thursday morning. Police and medical personal have been on the scene at the complex most of the morning. The singer had a medical emergency on April 15th that forced his private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois with what his people called the flu.
