It’s no secret that there’s bad blood between former Eagles’ member Don Felder and the group, which fired him in 2001. In addition to suing Don Henley and Glenn Frey for wrongful termination, Felder released his autobiography, Heaven and Hell: My Life in the Eagles, which contains some choice words about how the band treated him.

Henley hasn’t sat idly by, of course. “Felder’s just bitter because he got kicked out of the group, so he decided to write a nasty little tell-all,” he said in a statement about the book. “Which I think is a really low, cheap shot. I mean, I could write some stuff about him that would make your mustache curl.”

That bad blood rose to the surface once more during one of Henley’s solo shows over the weekend (via Ultimate Classic Rock). While introducing current guitarist Steuart Smith to the Detroit crowd, Henley took offense when a concertgoer sitting front and center shouted Don Felder’s name. “So I called him out,” Henley explained about the incident. “But he wasn’t finished. Then, he blurted out, ‘Don Felder taught Tom Petty how to play guitar.’ I said, ‘Okay, that’s it, you’re outta here,’ and I had security escort him out.”
