Pop star Taylor Swift scored big by getting both Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler to play guest spots during her recent concerts at Nashville’s Bridgsetone Arena. Jagger and Swift duetted on the Rolling Stones‘ first chart-topper, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” during Saturday night’s show (September 26th) — with Tyler showing up the preceding night (September 25th) for a duet of Aerosmith‘s Grammy-nominated weeper, “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing.”

This isn’t the first time the pop ingenue shared a stage with Jagger. Back on June 3rd, 2013 she performed with the Stones during their show at Chicago’s United Center and joined the band for a rendition of the their early ballad, “As Tears Go By.”

  • Mick Jagger said,  while in transit for a recent Stones gig, and he explained to us that keeping a firm tow hold in the pop and entertainment world has always been and important element in his — and the band’s — career: “I like to stay in the game, y’know? I think that’s part of it, y’know? The Rolling Stones, it’s like, you have to be still doing it, but to make it exciting for yourself and everyone else. Y’know, I never wanted it to be, like, overtly overtrend following, or things like that. You’ve got to be true to yourself and stuff. I just think, by definition, if you’re in popular music, then you better be in it — not just going up your own ego, or own alley. I think you’ve got to tip your hat to what interests you and what’s going on.”
  • Jagger says — for better or worse — he’s always kept his ears on the pulse of what’s going down musically on the street and in the clubs: “You think you’ve invented some great new style (laughs) which someone’s done five years ago. They say, ‘Oh well, sorry, well, that’s been done to death!’ ‘Oh, ‘thought that was new.’ ‘No.’ That’s a joke, but that can happen, y’know? I’m not saying you have to be a slave, I don’t think you need to be a slave to new things, necessarily, but in pop music, y’know, I think it’s good to keep your ear on the ground, some.”
