Kurt Cobain’s Cover of The Beatles “And I Love Her” to be Released

By Jeff Cornell

Director Brett Morgen discovered a goldmine of previously unreleased audio and footage while working on his Kurt Cobain biopic Montage of Heck. One of the surprising finds is a very raw acoustic version of The Beatles‘ classic “And I Love Her,” performed by Cobain on an acoustic guitar. Listen to the song in the player above.

According to Stereogum, a 7″ record containing The Beatles cover and the Cobain rarity “Sappy” will be released on Nov. 20. It’s available for pre-order here.

Back in May we reported that Morgen said he had enough unheard Cobain songs to release a full-length album. No word on whether there will be a full release, but this 7″ should keep fans happy for a bit.

The John Lennon and Paul McCartney-penned “And I Love Her” was originally featured on the Beatles’ 1964 album A Hard Days Night. It has been covered by a diverse range of artists including Diana Krall, Pat Metheny and Al Di Meola.
