A previously unheard soundboard recording of Van Halen performing The Kinks’ “All Day and All of the Night” live at the Pasadena Civic Center on November 19th, 1976 is now on YouTube.

According to Guitar World, it was posted by Greg Renoff, the author of the new bookVan Halen Rising, as a “thank you” for pre-orders of author-signed copies from the Van Halen Store. His book begins shipping this week.

Van Halen has covered The Kinks “You Really Got Me” and “Where Have All the Good Times Gone” on albums, but never released a studio version of “All Day and All of the Night.”
