The first fruit from Bryan Adams team-up with ELO’s Jeff Lynne has premiered online. The new track, “You Belong To Me,” from Adams’ upcoming Get Up album, was shot and directed by Adams and “relies solely on Adams, his guitar, and a muse.” Get Up, produced by Jeff Lynne will be released on October 16th. The album, which once again pairs Adams with longtime songwriting partner Jim Vallance, features nine new tracks — with four acoustic versions of the tunes.

Bryan Adams said that when writing new material, he tends to come up with the lyrics first, which is why the songwriting process takes so long for him: “I actually work quite well to looking at a lyric and, uh, coming up with an idea musically. If I was writing more lyrics out, I’d probably write more songs.”

  • Last year, Bryan Adams released his first covers collection, The Tracks Of My Years. The set was produced by veterans David Foster and Bob Rock, and tackles classics by the Beatles, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eddie Cochran, the Beach Boys, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, the Association, and more.
