This past week, the online dating site promising to hook up adulterers and facilitate affairs was shutdown following a massive hack.

The cheating site was the victim of a breach that not only hit the user database but also all of the financial information.  With 37 million users on the website, the full extent of the damage is still unknown.

The Impact Team, a group of hackers, is taking full responsibility for the hack and has already leaked random fragments of user information. They have demanded the online dating site be shut down or more information will be released. Ashley Madison claims to have secured itself and is working with law enforcement officials to catch the hackers.
