In the most powerful moment of an historic eulogy for Reverend Clementa Pinckney delivered by President Barack Obama this afternoon (June 26), The President sang “Amazing Grace” in front the crowd gathered for the service in Charleston, SC.

Before the song, and before the service joined in to help him sing, Obama spoke with eloquence and emotion. His eulogy was heartfelt, and reached the mourners and the nation. He spoke of the Confederate flag, of what racism looks like in the 21st century, and of gun control.

“It would be a betrayal of everything Reverend Pinckney stood for if we allow ourselves to slip into comfortable silence again,” he said.
