One look at the production resume of Chic’s Nile Rodgers and it’s clear the man keeps busy. He’s produced classic albums by Diana RossMadonnaDuran Duran and David Bowie, to name a few.

And he’s not slowing down anytime soon, either. In a new interview with, Rodgers revealed that he’ll soon go into the studio with Beck, who is one of the performers at the Rodgers-curated FreakOut! Let’s Dance Festival, taking place in Riverhead, N.Y., Aug. 4-5.

“We haven’t gone into the studio yet,” he said. “We’re going into the studio out on [Long] Island. We have the studio booked, we’re ready to go.”

But it does make sense: Rumor has it that Beck is moving in a funkier direction, if his new song “Dreams” is indicative of his upcoming music.
