On Minimation, we comb through our interview archives and animate interviews with legendary artists. In this interview from 2015, the members of Fall Out Boy recall shooting their “Save Rock and Roll” video with Sir Elton John

In 2013, Fall Out Boy returned to active duty after a hiatus of a few years and when they came back, they decided to come back big. The made an ambitious album called Save Rock and Roll their calling card, featuring guest spots by an impressive guest list of artists across several genres that included Big Sean, Courtney Love and Elton John.

The latter two artists were part of the music video for the title track and, in Sir Elton’s case, it involved a bit of gore. For some reason his part in the video involved being doused in fake blood. One of the stipulations was that no blood could touch his face. Guess what happened during the shoot?
