Def Leppard Will Probably Decline a Rock Hall Induction

If you’re looking, it’s not hard to find a lengthy list of complaints about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with genre bias, lack of diversity, and the seemingly arbitrary vetting process towards the top.

Then there’s the opinion that fandom is rarely taken into account, which would be Def Leppard‘s main gripe with the institution.

In an interview with HuffPost Live, frontman Joe Elliott spoke out about his reservations with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and why, at least for him, it’s not the highest honor.

Calling it “nice but not that important,” Elliott said he prioritizes his fan’s reactions to Def Leppard’s music instead. A platinum record is all the validation he needs.
