With Duets: Re-Working the Catalogue, the concept of the new Morrison album is exactly as it sounds: old songs, re-imagined as duets. And, with any high profile collaborative project like this, both the song choices and the duet partners are of note.

In regards to the former, we aren’t getting many of the best known Morrison songs, but, rather, cuts from his career that might be new seeming to many listeners. As for the latter, Mavis Staples, the late Bobby WomackJoss StoneNatalie Cole, and Michael Bublé are among the singing partners that will appear on the effort.
