As if there weren’t already enough to worry about, it turns out that Earth is under dire threat from small asteroids.

That’s the message being spread by Queen guitarist Brian May, who has joined a team of astronomers, scientists and other musicians to raise awareness about potential asteroid impacts, Billboard reports.

May joins former astronaut Ed Lu, Richard Dawkins and Bill Nye in calling for a new and improved asteroid detection system to “solve humanity’s greatest challenges to safeguard our families and quality of life on Earth in the future.”

While an asteroid detection system already exists, May and co. are calling for a new one that’s 10 times as powerful. Their organization, called 100X Asteroid Declaration, wants governments and philanthropists to improve asteroid-detection rates from the current 10,000 per year to 100,000 per year over the next 10 years.
