U2 is denying reports that the new iPhone 6 launch will feature the band in a pivotal role.
Rumors surrounding the band included the phone being pre-loaded with their upcoming 13th album or that the band would be performing at the gadgets launch party, according to Business Insider.
“They are not releasing their album on the iPhone, and they are not performing at the iPhone launch,” a spokesperson for the Irish band said in a statement.
These rumors seem to have begun at, appropriately, Macrumors, where one Stephen Browne apparently stumbled upon a music video shoot for U2 (which included a director Mark Romanek sighting), with the music promoter claiming that the footage centered around a mobile device.
