Earlier this week, Aerosmith canceled a date on their current “Let Rock Rule” tour, which has led to some speculation about the health of drummer Joey Kramer.

Aerosmith posted a vague note to their website, saying, “Due to illness, Aerosmith has been forced to cancel the LET ROCK RULE tour date on Aug. 13 at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, Calif.  The band regrets not being able to perform for their fans.”

TMZ then reported that the cancellation was due to “heart complications” suffered by Kramer, and that the drummer has a history of cardiac issues. “A member of the crew told us … the 64-year-old will undergo heart surgery, but we could not confirm that.”

Kramer’s wife, Linda, took to twitter to respond to those reports, tweeting, “Despite whats being reported n media my husband @joeykramer is NOT undergoing emergency open heart surgery he has NOT had prior heart issues” and “Media blowing out of proportion The truth is Yes my husband @joeykramer is in the hospital having a procedure related to his heart.”
