Last year’s burying of the hatchet between Mick Jones and Lou Gramm — when the onetime Foreigner bandmates were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame — may lead to their working together again.
Jones says, “Lou told me a few weeks ago he’s discovered a few songs we were writing in the ’80s, but never quite finished. We might take time next year to bring a couple of those out of the vaults… It’s a question of wading through them and finding a cassette machine to play them on.”
But Jones insists that if this happens, it will not lead him to replace current Foreigner singer Kelly Hansen. “Kelly has dedicated everything to the band. He’s phenomenal. So anything I do will be sensitive to that. If Lou and I do something, it’ll be inclusive. No way will he replace Kelly.”
Foreigner are on tour in Europe with shows in Belgium on Thursday and Paris on Friday. They’ll tour the U.S. this summer on a bill with Styx and Don Felder.
The tour will be in the Detroit area July 10th at Freedom Hill Amphitheater.
