KISS announced today their intention to hire two military veterans to work as roadies on their upcoming 42-city summer tour with Def Leppard.
The newest Rock and Roll Hall of Famers went on the Today show this morning to make the announcement. They’re doing it as part of the National Chamber Foundation and Capital One’s “Hiring 500-thousand Heroes” campaign, which aims to assist veterans and their spouses find meaningful employment.
A nationwide search will be conducted to find two veterans who will be hired for the tour. Paul Stanley says, “It is our privilege to draw attention to the obligation we all have to the brave men and women who volunteer to risk their own lives to protect the liberties and freedom that we all take for granted. We should all jump at any opportunity to provide any assistance needed by our warriors. Heroes deserve jobs!”
KISS did something similar two years ago when they hired an Army veteran to join their tour. Both KISS and Def Leppard will donate $2 of every ticket to various military charities. Veterans can apply for the unique gig by going to military.com/heroes.
