VOTE NOW: Which Members Of KISS Should Be Inducted Into Rock ‘n Roll Hall Of Fame?

40 years after the release of their debut album, KISS is now officially being inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in April. There has been a lot of controversy lately as to which KISS members past or present the Hall Of Fame committee will induct. As many fans know, the band has gone through more than a few lineup changes over the decades, including a 13 year stint of the band not wearing it’s famous grease paint.

Original guitarist Ace Frehley was first replaced in 1982 by Vinnie Vincent, who would put his stamp on two major KISS albums, Creatures Of The Night, and Lick It Up. After Vincent’s tense departure, the band brought in Mark St. John to play on the album Animalize, which scored a huge radio and MTV hit with “Heaven’s On Fire.” Due to health problems, St. John was not able to tour with the band and was replaced by guitarist Bruce Kulick.

Kulick’s tenure with the band would last 12 years solid. Longer than any other guitarist to date. His rich playing can be heard on non-makeup era albums such as Asylum, Crazy Nights, and Revenge. Kulick said in a recent interview that he will be in attendance the night of the induction ceremony, but no announcement yet on if he will be inducted. The Rock Hall is standing firm that they are only inducting the original line-up of Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss.

Peter Criss left the band in 1980 and was replaced by Eric Carr would remain with the band until his passing from cancer in 1991. The band then hired Alice Cooper drummer Eric Singer in 1992. He has been in and out of the band ever since, in make-up and out.

In 2000, after KISS completed their “Farewell Tour.” Stanley and Simmons wanted to continue to tour, but they did not want to include Frehley and Criss. They were replaced by KISS’ tour manager Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer. They have both played exclusively in the band since 2004.
