Mark Lindsay tipped us on his Facebook page that Paul Revere and the Raiders “lost” Christmas single “Rain Sleet or Snow” is now available digitally.

Recorded in 1967 and clearly influenced by both The Beatles’ “Sergeant Pepper” and Jimi Hendrix’ “Foxey Lady,” the tune was not well received when it was sampled by Columbia Records for an important radio programmer. The reaction was so negative that the song was basically scuttled.

Now, more than 45 years later, “Rain, Sleet or Snow” is available as part of a massive digitial-only reissue of Raiders material by their long-time label. So is their complete holiday season album “A Christmas Present…And Past”.
