Chicago has released a new song, “America,” which they say conveys “a stirring challenge to ‘we the people’ to save the American dream before it’s too late.”
Build on their tradition horn-powered rock-jazz fusion, the single is available for download at Chicago’s website and on iTunes. And it’s already picked up an important outlet — baseball’s playoff-bound Los Angeles Dodgers are playing it at their home games.
Co-founder Lee Loughnane, who wrote the song, says, “‘America’ is a song that has been waiting to be written for many years. The core message is you and me, [which] intuitively resonates with people… [It’s] a grass-roots message…[that was] crafted to inspire people of all political perspectives, who, though disagreeing vehemently on many points, still share common fears and hopes for the future of the nation — we are truly all in this together.”
