As Mike Love of the Beach Boys explained to me in an interview last week, after the 50th Anniversary Tour last year, members of the band have once again gone their separate ways.  He’s on the road with the Beach Boys and played the Freedom Hill Amphitheater in Sterling Heights this past Friday night.

Meanwhile, Brian Wilson has announced a fall leg of dates on his tour with Al Jardine and David Marks — and this time, he’ll be bringing Jeff Beck along for the ride.

They’ll kick the month-long run off on September 27th in Hollywood, Florida and wind it up on October 27th in Akron, Ohio. With the exception of a few previously booked shows, venues haven’t been announced yet.

Beck says, “He’s got a truckload of hits to play, but we’ll build on that and interact. Brian will kick things off, but I’ll also be given enough time to establish what I’m about. In the end, we’ll mix and match. It’s a complete honor to be on stage with him.”

Beck has also contributed guitar work to Wilson’s upcoming solo album.
