Original Eagles guitarist Bernie Leadon, who quit the band in 1975 after playing on their first four albums, has been with them since the start of the “History of the Eagles” tour. Here’s what Eagles co-founder Glenn Frey had to say Tuesday when he was asked whether Leadon will still be with the band when they re-open the Forum in L.A. with a three-night stand in January.
“I certainly hope so. We had a great time getting reacquainted and he did a great job. We enjoyed having him participate. We have a deep catalog and we also have a deep bench and it’s nice to be able to play music with him again, You know Bernie authored a lot of the guitar parts that we made Joe Walsh learn when he got into the band, so it’s been very funny to see them working stuff out together.”
The “History of the Eagles” tour stops at the Palace of Auburn Hills September 21st.
