Take A Stroll For The Children’s Leukemia Foundation Of Michigan At The Detroit Zoo

The 2nd annual “The Walk” at the Detroit Zoo happens this Saturday morning at 8:30am.  Registration begins at 7:30am.  The walk benefits the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan.

Join Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan for The WALK, an inspirational morning event to raise money and awareness to benefit children and adults across Michigan affected by leukemia, lymphoma and other related blood disorders.

I have  had the pleasure of assisting CLF often over the past 20 years of my career.  From radiothons to car giveaways raising more than 2 million dollars for this very worthwhile small Michigan based charity.

The Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan was founded in Detroit in 1952 by a group of parents who had each suffered the loss of a child due to leukemia. Together, this group resolved to support other families stricken with this devastating illness. Since that time, CLF has helped thousands of families fight life-threatening illnesses, and has grown to a statewide agency that provides information, financial assistance and support to children and adults affected by leukemia, lymphoma, and related blood disorders.

Currently, the agency serves over 4,500 families across the state of Michigan. CLF’s programs are designed to help people cope, overcome barriers, and maintain or improve their quality of life as they face the challenge of dealing with serious illnesses, such as leukemia, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, multiple myeloma, aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and myeloproliferative disorders.

Like the integrated lines of our heart logo, several elements must come together as a team to help a family as they go through this experience. CLF is one element of an entire network, including the medical team, and family and friends, working to bring it all together.

Until there’s a cure, CLF will be here to help families overcome the challenges leukemia, lymphoma and related blood disorders present.

Please think about signing up yourself or your group for this fun but important event.  Click here to register in advance.
