I’ve discovered that travel and illness are the enemies of kindness. Maybe not the enemy, but they sure make being kind more challenging. I thought I had the travel thing down from my February trip, but I was not as prepared – or as thoughtful – as I should have been when we travelled to Sandals in the Bahamas. And it’s hard to be kind from a sick bed. The kindest thing I did was stay away from everyone.
May was not my most creative month. I felt like a plane that has lost an engine; it can still fly but all the resources are going towards keeping it in the air. And I started out strong! I was participating in Live Below The Line – raising funds and awareness for world hunger. I donated to Gleaners too and surprised a kid with movie tickets, then sent homemade guacamole to a friend as a surprise. I took a mug all the way to the Bahamas for our friend Lauren from Clear Results Marketing, donated to the Red Cross after a tornado and gave money to the homeless on our trip to Toronto.
Once again, I vow to be more creative. And I welcome any and all of your ideas!
