Rick Springfield has written songs, and more recently, a “New York Times” best-selling memoir. Now the Australia-born singer-actor wants to try creating fiction. He’s cut a deal with the Simon & Schuster imprint Touchstone books for “Magnificent Vibration”, a novel due in 2014.
Springfield’s website offers a brief preview of the book, said to mix humor and spirituality: “The novel portrays a hero who has hit a dead end in his life, but who serendipitously receives a 1-800 phone connection to God via an inscription in a mysterious self-help book that may just give him a shot at saving the planet.”
Rick Springfield will be performing in Detroit on the grounds of the Detroit Yacht Club July on Belle Isle 11th. The event is part of a fundraiser just ahead of the APBA Detroit Gold Cup Races, scheduled for July 13-14 on the Detroit River.
