If it’s good enough for the rock band Journey, it’s good enough for our Detroit Lions. Remeber that when Journey went looking for a new lead singer to replace Steve Perry they found him on Youtube.  The Lions longtime place-kicker Jason Hanson recently retired, and the team has signed another kicker that will compete for his job next season. He’s a 245-pound guy with a powerful left foot named Havard Rugland and he’s from Norway. But that’s not the most interesting part of this story.

The Lions discovered him on YouTube. Rugland became a viral video star last year when he posted a four-minute clip of himself nailing some unbelievable kicks and has become known as “Kickalicious.” After working out in the U..S the last few months, the Lions decided they liked what they saw and signed him to a contract. He’ll be one of three kickers fighting for the job, one of them being 38-year-old veteran David Akers.

Check out his video.
