If you’ve seen reports or video of a Meteor hitting Russia, it is not fake. CBS News is reporting that a meteor streaked across the sky above Russia’s Ural Mountains on Friday morning, causing sharp explosions and injuring more than 500 people, many of them hurt by broken glass.

Fragments of the meteor fell in a lightly populated area of the Chelyabinsk region. A section of roof collapsed at a Zinc Factory, but according to CBS News it unclear whether that was caused by a shock wave from impact or meteor fragments.

Amateur video has been popping up online of the meteor streaking across the sky and one even capturing the sound of an explosion. That sound is now thought to be the Zinc Factory’s roof collapsing.
