Hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler kept the three-hour Golden Globes lively, including mocking themselves when they both lost to Lena Dunham for best actress in a television musical or comedy series. They insisted that Daniel Day Lewis played ET as a child and even made him do “the finger.”
One of the biggest standing ovations of the evening came when former president Bill Clinton walked out to introduce Lincoln – which won only one award; lead actor for Daniel Day-Lewis.
Ben Affleck claimed the best director honor and his film, Argo, won the award for best drama.
Les Miserable won for best comedy or musical; Hugh Jackman won best actor in a motion picture musical or comedy and Anne Hathaway took home the best supporting actress award.
Homeland won best television drama, and stars Damian Lewis and Claire Danes won acting awards for their roles.
And only one person seemed surprised when Adele won Best Song for Skyfall. I wish I had taken a screen shot of Taylor Swift – who did not look amused. Then Tina Fey warned Taylor to stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son who was there as Mr. Golden Globes.
