Crooner Rod Stewart is making news again.  Appearing Tuesday on the new daytime talk show “Katie”, hosted by Katie Couric, and seen locally on WXYZ-TV weekdays from 3-4pm, Stewart dished on his personal life and history.

On Wednesday the singer revealed his plans for his first new studio album in more than a decade to Billboard Magazine.  The album will be called “Love the Life You Live” and will be released in the spring.  Stewart told Billboard the album is competely done with exception of the title track and describes the work as:  “Just a good, old-fashioned Rod Stewart album (with) a lot of mandolin and acoustic (guitar) and fiddles and good storytelling.”

Stewart also talked about the long anticipated and much delayed reunion of his former group, The Faces.  He blames the uncertainty on Guitarist Ron Wood’s commitment to the Rolling Stones:  Rod says he:   “can’t commit to it ’cause Woody will say, ‘I’ve got to do this for the Stones. And I’ll be, ‘Hang on, Ronnie — but I gave you eight months of this year for The Faces.’ He says that until The Stones pack up for good, which he doesn’t think will happen anytime soon, he can’t commit to The Faces. But he adds that they’re “all good mates and I swear on my life it’ll happen one day. We might all be using [walkers] and wheelchairs, but we’ll do it.”
