Attention Beatles fans!  To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ recording career (which began in 1963)  Japan will be releasing a 10 CD collection this Friday October 5th.

The release, which doesn’t look to be officially from EMI, cuts accross the entire spectrum of Beatles history.  The collection contains a disc of their BBC broadcast, another with studio takes from the “Get Back”/”Let it Be” sessions, a disc of love songs, one called Rock & Roll Music and 6 discs identified as, “The Beatles Ultimate Collection.  The whole set will be available on CD and vinyl and will be priced at $163 U.S.

Japan has always been a hotbed for rare unusual and bootleg music and pictures.  Especially when it comes to the Beatles.  One example is the Japanese vinyl version of “I’m Down” available there years before coming to the U.S.

EMI says it will release a “Love Me Do” 50th anniversary collection soon.
