If you have been to a college football game, there are certain songs that the whole stadium will sing along with. You start playing Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” at the Big House or Spartan Stadium and people lose their minds singing along. That same mentality comes in to play when “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond comes on. Well, Penn State has nixed the song from their stadium playlist.

In the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal, Penn State has banned the Neil Diamond song from being played during football games. University officials were concerned because of a line in the song, “touching you, touching me,” according to the Allatoona Mirror newspaper.

PSU associate atheltic director for businees relations and communications, Greg Myford, said that “no song changes have been made based on lyrics” and the song “has no real orgination at Penn State.”
