Jimmy Page has always had an aversion to the press, and has never done a memoir (although he could certainly command a huge fee for writing a tell-all). But the next best thing is due in bookstores in October:  Light and Shade: Conversations With Jimmy Page.  Written by Brad Tolinski, the Editorial Director of Guitar World, Revolver and Guitar Aficionado, who has interviewed Page more than any journalist, it touches on everything from his years as a session musician to his post-Led Zeppelin projects.

The press release boasts quotes about the book from Page’s fans including Billy F. Gibbons of ZZ Top (“This fine work will rock you!”), Slash (“A fascinating must-have for Jimmy Page fans like myself”) and Kirk Hammett of Metallica (“Light & Shade illuminates the haunted genius of Jimmy Page in an original and completely satisfying way”).

Technically, this isn’t Page’s first book: he released the limited edition Jimmy Page By Jimmy Page via the UK’s Genesis Publications in 2010. Although that wasn’t the most accessible purchase for the average fan: it cost about $685, and was limited to 2500 copies which quickly sold out. The book was mostly based on photographs, with Page providing captions, where Conversations With Jimmy Page is based on in-depth interviews.
