Kate Middleton’s royal wedding dress has made $15.7 million in ticket sales at a Buckingham Palace exhibition. The Palace, which is open to visitors in the summer, saw a 52 percent increase in ticket purchases when the dress was put on display last year. Money raised by the yearly palace exhibit goes to the Royal Collections Trust, which manages Queen Elizabeth II‘s artworks and other valuables.
Also displayed were the tiara Kate borrowed from Queen Elizabeth, the earrings, and shoes that Middleton wore on her wedding day, along with the bouquet she carried and the couple’s wedding cake.
Over 600,000 people saw the dress – despite the fact that the Queen described the display as “creepy”, because the dress and tiara were shown on a headless mannequin.
