Bruce Springsteen Picked To Write New National Anthem

Yep, you read it right, my fellow Americans. ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ our iconic National Anthem since 1931, is old and busted. Bruce Springsteen is the perfect choice to write us a hot new tune to sing with our hats off and hands on our hearts. At least, that’s what some people want.

Are They nuts? I’m gonna go with YES!

According to an on-line Vanity Fair poll, 22% of Americans think the ‘Born in the USA’ singer would be perfect to write a new, updated Anthem. Some of the other singers who people thought were up to the task were Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton, movie composer John Williams, and Madonna.

As talented as those great artists are, to even suggest replacing ‘The Star Spangled Banner’, even if you don’t like the song, is crazy talk. And, frankly, un-American. I still choke up, and feel great pride in our nation every time I hear it. Replacing it would be like replacing The Statue Of Liberty.

But what do you think?
