There are tribute bands and then there are official tribute bands.  “The Queen Extravaganza” is one of the former.  Conceived and assembled by Queen drummer Roger Taylor, who held a competition to find the very best players.

The nine piece band will get the full Queen production experience.  Mark Fisher is responsible for the show’s design.  He put together “The Wall” for Pink Floyd and every Rolling Stones show since 1989.  Roger Taylor himself is the show’s musical director saying,  “We delve very deep into our catalog. I didn’t want to just make it a string of hits… It’s an eclectic show. It has a lot of dynamics, quiet moments and very loud moments.”

“The Queen Extravaganza” comes to the Fox Theater stage in Detroit May 31st.
