[photogallerylink id=48400 align=right] [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Davy Jones[/lastfm], legendary lead singer of the Monkees, has died at age 66 of an apparent heart attack.

CBS Miami confirmed the story Wednesday. Jones is survived by his wife Jessica and 4 children he had from previous marriages.

    One of my first crushes, Loved all the Monkee’s, but he was my favorite. What a joy to watch and listen too! So sad, still so young. My heart is breaking.

  2. very sad, was just with him out in L.A. with some friends of mine. Great guy, amazing performer. when they came to Detroit at the fox, they did a outstanding show!!
    will be missed.
    have to get my friend to take out the Monkeemobile for a cruise to remember Davy.

    cried when I heard news at work. im 31. grew up listening, watching, laughing and enjoying the music. the world lost a wonderful voice and inspiration. we will miss you terribly.
