For the most part, gas prices have dropped a few cents over the past week according to the Michigan AAA Motor Club. The price at some stations, however, has drifted back up by nearly a dime a gallon.
Nancy Cain at the Michigan AAA Motor Club says overall, prices have dropped just a bit over the past week in Michigan. On average, we’re paying $3.36 a gallon in Michigan. Some stations in Metro Detroit, however, have cranked their prices from $3.29 to $3.39 in the past few days.
Checking with michigangasprices.com the cheapest price we could find in Metro Detroit this morning was $3.14 at the Speedway gas station at Pontiac Trail and 9 Mile Road in South Lyon. The most expensive gallon of motion lotion was found at the home of traditionally expensive gas — at the BP in Romulus near Wick and I-94 where it’s going for $3.79 a gallon. Still a far cry from the max $4.29 a gallon they were charging a few weeks ago.
The Lundberg Survey says nationwide the average price of a gallon of gas is $3.42. The cheapest price was found in Albuquerque at $3.07. The most expensive gas averaged $3.81 in San Francisco.
