Attention football fans in Sterling Heights. Today’s your chance to meet two members of the Super Bowl XLV champion Green Bay Packers. And these big, brawny lads are homegrown in Sterling Heights!
You’re invited to meet your local Super Bowl XLV champion Green Bay Packers players - Frank Zombo and Nick McDonald. Both are from Sterling Heights. Zombo attended Stevenson High School and Zombo attended Henry Ford.
The Super Bowl Champions Luncheon is sponsored by the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Sterling Heights Community Foundation. Seating begins at 11 this morning and members of the sponsoring organizations get in for $25. The admission fee for non-members is $40. The price includes what is being billed as a “delicious luncheon.” Hopefully it won’t be the tradiational rubber chicken offered at so many gatherings!
The luncheon is being held at the Polish American Century Club located at 33204 Maple Lane, that’s just north of 14 Mile Road in Sterling Heights. For more information call or email Brenda Karafa at (586) 731-5400, Extension 10. Brenda’s email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
It should be fun hearing both Zombo and McDonald share their stories of growing up in the community. And Sterling Heights Mayor Richard Notte will be there to present them with special proclamations.
