[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Roger Daltrey[/lastfm] says music festivals broadcasted on TV make him “want to puke.”

Spinner reports Daltrey confessed this little tid-bit in an interview with the BBC.

Most of the festivals are on TV which I think again is doing the music industry a disservice, I don’t think it’s selling the music” and also adding, “Most of the festival stuff I’ve seen on TV makes me want to puke. It’s wall-to-wall stuff and they (the artists) get very little money for that to be put on TV.

I understand how the over commercialization of everything can be nauseating but televised concerts are fantastic from a fans perspective.   Not everyone can afford a $300+ ticket and the air or bus fare to get to a festival, or the time off work or child care expenses.  And then there are many people with health issues who can’t withstand the long hikes and high temperatures that festival go-ers must endure.

Maybe people with kids, jobs and a budget want to enjoy music as well and appreciate a television broadcast!

Sometimes wealthy rock stars who complain about main stream artists not getting paid enough make me “want to puke.”
