Rory Gallagher is an Irish blues rocker who sold more than 30 million records worldwide. He was best know for his passionate marathon live performances. Gallagher was David Coverdale’s choice to replace Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple but he decided to dedicate his talent to his budding solo career. Rory Gallagher died in 1995 of complications from a liver transplant. A combination of alcohol and prescription medication necessitated the transplant. “A Million Miles Away”, which I’ve included, was part of his 1974 Irish Tour and is one of my favorites by this awesome guitarist!
