Former member of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Beach Boys[/lastfm] and legendary songwriter, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Brian Wilson[/lastfm], is hinting that The Beach Boys might reunite in the studio for their 50th anniversary.

We’re picking up goooood vibrations… are you?

“Nothing’s really holding me back,” says Wilson. “I just don’t know if I want to be around those guys, you know? They’re zany guys. They’re crazy.” Wilson and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Beach Boys[/lastfm] last worked together in 1996 on the album Stars and Stripes Volume One. The record was composed of country versions of the bands most well known songs.

Wilson’s cautiousness might stem from his past struggles with psychological issues in the 1970s and ’80s. The recovery was long and also included Wilson overcoming severe stage fright. Since his recovery, Wilson has flourished as a solo artist, notably with his 2004 release Smile. The album was the unfinished project and intended follow up to Pet Sounds, the legendary 1966 album from The Beach Boys.
